I frequently do polls on my Instagram stories where I do market research about people’s struggles with creating content. One of the main issues my audience struggles with seems to be knowing what to post.
Even though having your ideal audience figured out can give you loads of ideas on what to post, sometimes you just need a little extra push in the right direction. That’s why I’ve decided to compile a list of my five favorite tools for generating content ideas because even as a content creator I sometimes need extra inspiration as well.
Ready to create amazing content?
Answer The Public
Answer The Public is BY FAR my favorite tool for generating new content ideas. It gives you 200 of the currently most searched phrases on search engines that include the keywords you input into Answer The Public’s search bar. So not only are you getting 200 blog post ideas, but you’re also getting ideas that are currently trending and people actually want to learn about.
The best advice I can give you for using this tool is to really think about what words your ideal audience is using to describe/refer to your business and services. You have the option to write a few keywords into the search bar, but I suggest you use only one at a time. I’ve found you get much better results when focusing on one word at a time.
The Hoth Headline Generator
The Hoth’s headline generator is probably the most advanced headline generator tool on the internet. Before you get suggestions, you have to fill out five things:
- Keyword relevant to your website
- Desired outcomes that your audience may search for
- Problems that are common for your target audience
- Name of your industry
- Name of your target audience
Because you input all of this information, The Hoth can then give you the best SEO-optimized titles for your future blog posts. The only downside is, you have to give them your email address to see your results, but I think it’s completely worth it since it’s such an amazing free tool.
HubSpot Blog Ideas Generator
If you’re looking for a free tool that helps you come up with not only blog post titles, but also good blog post ideas, then HubSpot’s Blog Ideas Generator is the perfect tool for you. The way it works is that you enter up to five nouns for topics you want to write about, click “Give me Blog Ideas” and the tool works its magic and gives you five blog post recommendations.
Tweak Your Biz Title Generator
Tweak Your Biz has generated one of the simplest title generator tools I’ve ever seen. You just input your topic of choice into their search bar, select if it’s a noun or verb, and you’re good to go. The results are split into 13 groups such as lists, best, how-to, questions, etc., and provide great ideas as well as done-for-you blog post titles.
Additionally, you can also select if you want the search results to appear in title case, sentence case, or all caps, so you can easily copy and paste the results into whatever document you want to store ideas in.
Keywordtool.io
Keywordtool.io gives you a lot of suggestions and ideas, but my favorite thing about it is the filtering system it provides. It also lets you analyze your competitor’s keywords to get a sneak peek at what they’re doing to generate good SEO content.
